It’s getting close to the time of year when we look around and remember all we have to be thankful for! Although we have many things to be thankful for throughout the year, many of us tend to overlook them until the holidays.
We should express gratitude all year long for the things we have in our lives. One of the things I am most thankful for in my life is the people in it that make me happy!
I am surrounded by wonderful family, friends, coworkers, and more! Sometimes, I forget to show my love and gratitude towards those in my life who are deserving of it.
There are so many ways to express thanks to someone, but I am not the type of person to go all out or make a big deal about something.
I’d rather show people I love them in a simple, thoughtful, and caring manner. To me, it’s the little things that go a long way to show someone love, appreciation, and thankfulness.

Ways To Show Someone You’re Thankful For Them
1. Send a Card
The most simple way to show someone you are thankful for them is to send a card. I love sending handwritten cards to people. It makes me smile knowing they are receiving something written from the heart. I get excited about picking out cards with cute pictures and cards with something funny on them! I love to make people smile and laugh.
2. Send Flowers
Another easy and well-known way to show someone you care is to send them flowers. The few times in my life that I have received flowers from someone it was so heartwarming! It’s also fun to get a surprise from someone you love.
3. Write a Note
Leave a little note for your significant other where they will see it. I honestly haven’t done this in a while and I need to! It can make your significant other’s day and make them feel loved and appreciated, simply by leaving a small handwritten note letting them know how much you are thankful for them and all they do! It’s a small and simple gesture, yet it can mean so much to them.
4. Make Something
Think of some creative ways to make something special! Do you love being crafty? Great, put your skills to work and make something special to show someone that you are thankful for them.
One of my favorite ways to be crafty is to make scrapbooks. I made one for my husband several years ago of pictures of us throughout the years. I added cute stickers, quotes, and inside jokes throughout the book. I gave it to him for Christmas and he loved it.
Handmade gifts really show someone that you love them
5. Give Them a Hug
One of my favorite ways to show I am thankful for someone is to hug them! I am definitely a hugger. Sometimes, a hug can solve many problems. Giving someone a big hug can show them how much you love, care, and are thankful for them.
If you aren’t a hugger (I know some people aren’t), give them “a free hug” to use any time they need one. They will surely see how much you love them with that kind of gesture!

6. Get a Small Gift
Who doesn’t love a gift that makes you think about them? That’s my favorite way to buy people gifts! When I am shopping, I love to get something that makes me think of the person I am shopping for.
A gift can make someone feel special and show them you are thankful for them. Even something small like their favorite snack or a gift card to their favorite place to shop or eat.
7. Send a Text
Send them a text when you’re thinking of them. Do you randomly think about people sometimes? I know I do!
You can always send someone a text message to let them know you are thinking about them and that you are thankful for them. Sending text messages are an easy and simple thing to do that will surely put a smile on someone’s face!
8. Get Them Coffee or a Dessert
Who doesn’t love their favorite coffee or dessert? One of the best small gestures is to take them a cup of coffee or dessert. When my friends or family buy me a cup of coffee, it always makes my day! It’s even better if they bring it to me at work.
Do this for someone that you love. Show them how thankful you are for them by getting them their favorite cup of coffee or their favorite dessert (or both, right?)
9. Offer to Help Them With Something
Offer to do something or to help them with something. Don’t you love it when people help you? You can show someone you are thankful for them by helping them with something around the house or anything else they may need help with! A simple gesture like this can go a long way.
My best friend and I will help each other with our to-do lists if we are feeling overwhelmed and there are things that we can help with. It’s a nice way to show that we love each other and are always there to help!
10 Take Them to Their Favorite Restaurant
I don’t know about you, but my husband and I definitely have our favorite restaurants! We already go to them on a regular basis, but we always mention our favorites when we know the other person deserves it, needs a pick-me-up, or want to do something nice for each other.
If you know someone’s favorite restaurant that you are wanting to show a little gratitude towards, offer to take them there! It’s also a great chance to spend some quality time together talking and catching up.

12. Send a Care Package
Is there someone you want to show you are thankful for who doesn’t live near you? One of the best ways to show your love, thankfulness, and gratitude for them is to send a care package!
Think of some creative ideas of what to put in it. Maybe a homemade gift, their favorite candy, some pictures, and things they may want or need. Don’t forget to add a note!
13. Make Their Favorite Meal
A great way to show your partner, spouse, best friend, or family member that you are thankful for them is to fix their favorite meal. Give them your full attention, eat your meal, and enjoy each other’s company.
14. Learn Your Partner’s Love Language
I think learning love languages is so important for any relationship. There are five different love languages- acts of service, gift-giving, physical touch, quality time, and words of affirmation.
Learn your partner’s love language to show them how thankful you are for them and how much you love them! It’s a powerful way to show your love and thankfulness.
15. Ask How They Are and Listen to Them
How many times do we ask people how they are, not really wanting to hear the full story? Our daily lives can become overwhelming and sometimes we need to talk to someone. Think of a specific person and give them a phone call, text message, or ask in person to see how they are doing.
Once you ask them, actually listen to what they have to say! Be a listening ear for them and give them encouragement and advice if they need it. This is a simple act of kindness that we can do for anyone in our lives. Make sure to tell them how much you love them and are thankful to have them in your life!
Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.
