Natural alternatives to store-bought products are my favorite!
Do we even know what ingredients are in the products that we use? Sure, we can read the labels, but do you know half of what you are reading? I know that most of the ingredients are things that I have to look up, and I don’t like that! I like being able to read an ingredient list and understand the ingredients that are listed.
Natural alternatives are so much better for us. For our littles. For our pets. The ingredients of natural products are non-toxic, and we know what we are using if we create them ourselves! We would be able to read the ingredients list and understand it.
One of my favorite products to make at home is an all-natural bathroom air freshener spray. This DIY air freshener spray only has a few ingredients, and it’s super easy to throw together. It also smells AMAZING. The scent can be altered to fit any smell you like!
Tools you will need:
4 oz Amber Colored Glass Bottle– these are the best!
Small funnel– You will use this for so much in the kitchen as well! I love mine and use it all the time. A collapsible one is even better for storage!
Why should you put this mixture in a glass bottle? Essential oils are potent and can deteriorate plastic bottles. Storing in an air-tight glass container is best to keep essential oils (and their mixtures) safe. Plastic is also harmful to the environment, and I will always recommend glass over it!
All-Natural Bathroom Air Freshener Spray Recipe:
- 10 Drops Spearmint Essential Oil
- 10 Drops Lime Essential Oil
- 10 Drops Rosemary Essential Oil
- 2 TBSP Witch Hazel
- Distilled Water (fill the bottle the rest of the way)

I have also done just lavender (30 drops) and it smells wonderful! What essential oil blends would you like to try? I would love to hear about them!
