Are you a spicy food lover??
Are you a spicy food fan and as well as an okra fan? You will LOVE this spicy southern fried okra recipe! It’s super simple and very quick to cook.
My husband and I grew up in the south, and okra is a staple in our household. We also love Mexican food and are huge spicy food fans.
I came up with this recipe, and we fell in love!! I never make regular fried okra in our house anymore (are we even southern???). This recipe is the only way we will eat it now!
The only tool you really need for this recipe is a cast iron skillet. I couldn’t live without mine!
The Best Spicy Southern Fried Okra
Ingredients
- 1/2 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 3 Cups of Okra (fresh or frozen)
- 3-4 Tablespoons Tony Chachere Spice N Herbs Seasoning
- Dash of Pepper
- Dash of Salt
Instructions
- Heat oil in cast iron skillet over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the okra to the skillet. I use fresh okra during the summer when our garden is producing. I use frozen okra during the winter months. Either way, it tastes amazing!
- Season the okra with Tony Chachere Spice N Herbs seasoning. I use about 3-4 Tablespoons of this seasoning. I make sure all of the okra gets covered with the seasoning so occasionally I may use more.
- Add salt and pepper.
- Heat until the okra is cooked through.
