Many people say that the kitchen is the heart of the home. In my house, it definitely is. The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in our house.
My husband and I always tend to gravitate towards the kitchen, and when we have friends over, that seems to be where we always hang out.
Time in the kitchen can be frustrating and annoying at times, especially for those of you who hate cooking and being in the kitchen.
Even for someone who finds cooking to be enjoyable, it can be the last thing I want to do some days.

9 Easy Ways to Make Time in the Kitchen Fun
1. Use a Date Night Cookbook
A date night cookbook can be so much fun! It can turn a typical night of cooking dinner into excellent quality time by being fun and exciting!
Add fun activities or games to your night of cooking dinner. It makes the perfect at home date night.
My husband and I have this date night cookbook, and we have enjoyed it so much!

2. Order a Meal Kit
Ordering Hello Fresh meals are my weakness. I try to budget for atleast one of these a month. I have so much fun cooking them!
I love the variety of options for meals to cook. They are very different from the meals I typically cook! It makes it easy and fun to try new foods.
Once you have received the meal, the recipe stays on the app (or you can keep the card it comes with), and you can make the meals any time you want!
My husband even has fun pitching in with these. They are a great way to add some fun and different meals to the kitchen, whether you are cooking solo or with your partner.
3. Make a Themed Dinner
Making a themed dinner is so exciting! Any time I do a themed dinner, it is for a place we have traveled to or somewhere we want to travel.
A themed dinner can be for anything, though! Do you and your kids love Disney? Have a Disney themed dinner night. It can be any theme that you, your spouse, or your kids enjoy. Have fun with it!
I always decorate the table, have music going, and make a meal from that place. A few years ago, we traveled to France. Once we got home, I was so ready to go back! I did a themed French dinner, and we had a blast reminiscing!
4. Build Your Own Pizza
Building my own pizzas is something that I have recently become obsessed with! I am honestly not sure why I didn’t start doing this sooner.
It has been wonderful to have ingredients from my garden this year to use on my homemade pizzas. This is a perfect dinner idea to have young kids or the whole family participate in.
You can buy small pizza crusts and have everyone make their own pizza! I love to add everything to my pizza, and my husband is a little more reserved with the ingredients he enjoys. We have fun creating new combinations as well.
Grab some pizza crust, sauce, toppings, and have a blast creating pizzas in the kitchen!

Getting the little kids and the older children in the kitchen to help is a great way to spend time together. Pick a simple recipe that will be easy for everyone and have everyone work on it together.

It does work on 31 year olds, too! Lol. I would start with simple meals that don’t take very long to cook. With a few “wins” (really good meals that you made yourself) you will want to keep going 🙂
