13 Kitchen Gadgets & Tools to Help Simplify Cooking

Being in the kitchen is something I enjoy, but I am always looking for quirky cooking tools to make my time in the kitchen more simple. Cooking can be very time consuming, and having the proper kitchen tools can make it much more simple and quick!

Do you feel like making a delicious meal for your family takes forever? Do you want to spend less time in the kitchen and more time doing things you enjoy? 

There are a lot of kitchen gadgets out there, but here are 13 of my favorites! 

1. 3-in-1 Avocado Tool

This 3-in-1 avocado tool is amazing! It cuts, pits, and scoops the avocado with ease. My husband and I go through a lot of avocados, and this gadget has made our life so much easier. There will be no more struggling to cut our avocados when it comes to making a good batch of guac! 

I also love that it makes the perfect slices of avocado for sandwiches. It’s also very easy to clean. You can just throw it in the dishwasher or rinse it off, and it’s good to go. This nifty tool will help you make extra time when cooking. 

2. Quesadilla Maker

A quesadilla maker is a staple in my household. It’s one of the best simple tools I’ve ever owned! We use it on a regular basis. Quesadillas are a great meal that everyone in the family loves, or the perfect addition to taco night! 

The quesadilla maker is quick & super easy to use to make cheese, chicken, or whatever kind of quesadillas you love! We are obsessed with all things quesadilla, so we couldn’t live without it.

3. Microwave Cover

Do you want an easy clean-up when things spill or explode in the microwave? This microwave cover is an absolute life-saver when something exploding or popping in the microwave. We use our microwave cover on a daily basis!

It covers whatever you put in the microwave and keeps food and liquids from getting all over the place. I have spent way too much time having to clean the microwave awkwardly.

This cover is fantastic and keeps me from having to clean the microwave after every use! It can easily be put in the dishwasher to get squeaky clean!

4. Egg Yolk Separator

When I was new to the game of baking, I had no idea what it meant to separate the egg yolk?! I mean, why would you want to do that? I remember looking it up online, watching a video, and then I did it by hand the first time. 

I was lucky enough to find this handy gadget, so I never had to do that again! I love my egg yolk separator, and it is one of my favorite gadgets in the kitchen to use when baking. It saves a lot of time, especially if you aren’t experienced at separating egg yolks. 

5. Collapsible Colander

A regular colander can be one of the most annoying things to put away in the cabinet. It is very awkward and can be time consuming to figure out how to fit it in the cabinets. It is also an essential kitchen tool that you need frequently. A collapsible colander is a great way to save some time and sanity. 

It fits right into one of my drawers, and I never have to fight with it to get it where I want it to go! It stores easy and still does its’ job perfectly. This is a must-have gadget for your kitchen!

6. Measurement Equivalents Magnet

This is one of the best investments I have ever made. This little gadget saves me so much time from having to look up measurement equivalents online.

Have you ever had a recipe throw a weird measurement at you, and you want to convert it to cups or tablespoons? It happens to me sometimes, and instead of having to take the time to Google it, I just use this nifty chart! 

The best part is that it’s a magnet. It sticks to my fridge, and I never have to worry about losing it. I would suggest investing in one of these if you do a lot of cooking or baking!

7. Air Fryer

Air fryers are an awesome tool! It was a long time before I realized how amazing an air fryer was. My husband and I were gifted one for Christmas one year, and it sat in the cabinet for a while before I finally used it. But once I did, I was hooked! This tool will be your new best friend.

The meals that I’ve made using my air fryer have all been amazing, and they are very quick! Dinner is usually ready in 20 minutes, and clean up is also easy. 

The small air fryer is great for a kitchen with smaller spaces. It can sit on the counter without getting in the way.

8. Slow Cooker

Most people have a slow cooker. I got about 4 when I got married (LOL). It really is a great tool to have in the kitchen! I love being able to throw dinner in the slow cooker and let it cook all day. Then, the food is ready when my husband and I get home from work! It’s so easy and saves a lot of time. Some days, I don’t feel like cooking when I get home, and using a slow cooker solves the problem!

For easy cleaning, grab some slow cooker liners! These are amazing and cut clean up time in half when using a slow cooker.

9. Angry Mama Microwave Cleaner

​Cleaning the microwave is one of my least favorite tasks. Every single time I clean the microwave, it takes forever! 

The angry mama microwave cleaner is great! It allows you to clean the microwave naturally with vinegar and water. When the mixture gets hot, steam begins to come out of angry mama and helps to loosen the grime in the microwave. 

​Once angry mama is finished, take a cloth and wipe out the microwave. It will be squeaky clean! This is one of the easiest ways I have found to clean the microwave. It will save you so much time when cleaning up after cooking! 

10. Herb Stripper

If you have ever spent time trying to break off fresh herbs to use when cooking, then you know how much of a pain it can be. An herb stripper can solve that problem! It has several different sized small holes, so it is a versatile tool for any type of herb you are using.

Find the hole that is the right size and pull the herbs through. It strip the herbs and it’s that easy.

Some herb strippers even come with herb scissors, so you get two in one!

11. Digital Scale

We use our digital scale a lot. Mostly when canning items or making tea recipes, but occassionally for regular recipes. When a recipe is in pounds, ounces, grams, it can be hard to eyeball it. 

A digital scale will save a lot of time and worry that you aren’t using the correct amount of what it calls for. It’s also easy to store because it’s flat and can slide right into a cabinet or empty space. I like to save my counter space any time I can! 

12. Garlic Press

Chopping tiny pieces of garlic is so much fun… said no one ever! It’s very tedious and can be time consuming. 

A garlic press is one of the best kitchen gadgets! You can press several pieces of garlic at once to use in a ton of recipes. You can also press other various vegetables that are small.

13. Meat Chopper

This is a tool that I put to a lot of use. We use a lot of ground beef in our home, and it can be hard to chop it into small pieces when browning it.

This tool is so helpful! It helps to chop the meat into small pieces to and makes them easier to eat and use in recipes. You will want to add this to your cooking utensilts today!
