Winter has quickly approached. It’s that time of year when I struggle to find fun things to do around the house or even in town!

Spending quality time with my husband usually consists of us sitting in the living room together chatting or watching TV. 

We love to do that, but we also enjoy having fun winter date ideas lined up for fun things to do around the home, outside, or in town.

If you struggle with finding fun date ideas for the winter season, keep reading! You will find the perfect way to spend date night.

Things to do at Home

1. Have a Fondue Party

Who doesn’t love fondue!? A fondue set like this one will be perfect for a fondue party!

2. Have a Cooking Date Night

What’s your favorite meal for you and your significant other?  A great way to spend an evening at home is by cooking your favorite meal.

3. Enjoy the Hot Tub

If you are lucky enough to have a hot tub, be sure to enjoy it with your better half!

4. Try a New Recipe

Trying new things is always fun! Pick out a new recipe to try and make together.

5. Do a Puzzle Together

We have recently started doing puzzles together. We have had a great time talking, working towards the same goal of completing the puzzle and spending time together.

Who doesn’t love to cuddle up on a cold night and watch a movie? Grab a warm blanket and your favorite movies to watch together.

Decorating for the holiday season is one of my favorite things to do! I love it when my husband helps me decorate our house for Christmas, spring, fall, or any other holiday or time of year.

Playing board games is one of my favorite things to do! I am a very competitive person, and I LOVE to win! Playing my favorite board games is very fun.

Hot chocolate, apple cider, and hot tea are some of my favorite drinks during the winter months! These are perfect for a cold winter night!

11. Play Card Games

Grab a deck of cards and pick your favorite card games to play for a nice evening with your significant other.

I prefer watching a TV series over a movie. Find a fun, new series to watch over the weekend.

Hot cocoa is the perfect way to warm up on cold winter days.

32. PLAY IN THE SNOW

We don’t get a lot of snow where I live, but I think the snow can be so much fun! Bundle up and have a blast with your significant other.

33. HAVE A SNOWBALL FIGHT

A fun way to spend time together would be to have a snowball fight! Enjoy your time outdoors and then warm up with a cup of hot cocoa! 

34. GO SLEDDING

Going sledding is something I have ALWAYS wanted to do! We have one major hill in my hometown where everyone goes sledding on the rare occasion it snows. I have never been!

35. GO SKIING

Skiing would be such a fun date idea. Whether you are a seasoned skier or learning something new, it would be fun to get outside and feel the rush of the wind from the slopes!

36. GO SNOWBOARDING

Maybe you’re great at skiing, so why not try something new? Even if you aren’t very good at snowboarding, it would be fun to try something new together. 

37. ROAST MARSHMALLOWS

Roasting marshmallows to make s’mores is always fun! Enjoy some time indoors or outdoors roasting marshmallows with your favorite person.

38. GO ICE SKATING

The last time I went ice skating was when my husband and I got engaged. Our town has an indoor ice skating rink this year, and I cannot wait to check it out. Ice skating makes for the perfect winter date night!

A bike ride can be a fun activity for both of you. Whether you’re a pro at biking, or just figuring it out, you can have a blast together.

Having a good laugh together is something we all need to do. Find a comedy show near you and have some much-needed laughs.

Coffee is always a good idea. Visit a coffee shop, warm up, and have some good conversation.

55. GO SEE A HOCKEY GAME

Hockey is huge in some parts of the world. If you or your better half enjoy hockey, go to a game for date night!

My husband and I are foodies, so this is our perfect date night! We love to try new places to eat and new types of cuisine.

57. VISIT AN ANTIQUE STORE

Antiquing can be so much fun. It’s like a scavenger hunt to find treasures hidden in the antique shops.

Going to the bowling alley is something my husband and I enjoy. We can have fun, get competitive, and work on our bowling skills! Having a little friendly competition only makes your relationship stronger (lol). It’s a great date idea to get out of the cold weather and enjoy each other’s company.

I love to ride around and look at holiday lights. It’s so beautiful to see neighborhoods lit up with all the colorful lights.

It’s always nice to get dressed up with each other and go eat some good food. You could try a new restaurant, enjoy some good food, and have good company with your significant other.

Is it cold where you live? We have had some cold weather finally start moving through. Shopping for winter gear can be fun and necessary! Head to the mall one evening when you need something fun to do.

Shopping local is something I try to do as often as I can. If there are some favorite local shops in your time, take some time to go visit.

We have the cutest theater in my hometown that has productions several times a year. It’s the perfect date idea!

These are so much fun! I have done paint parties several times. You get to indulge in your crafty side while having a good time with your significant other. This is also a great idea for a double date!

Escape rooms are so fun and exciting! Have a fun night and learn how well you work together with your significant other.

Donuts are my husband’s favorite treat. He loves it when we make a special trip to get them!

A few local restaurants in town have trivia nights. We have gone a few times with some friends and always have a blast. It’s a great way to get out of the house, get some food, and have some fun at the same time. 

84. Have Fun at an Arcade

Everyone loves playing at an arcade, right? Find one near you and have fun playing games!

85. Go Thrifting

As much fun as antiquing is, you will love thrifting as well. Find some treasures at local thrift shops. 

86. Attend a Yoga Class

Have you ever wanted to try yoga? Why not try it with your significant other?

87. Visit a Local Art Studio

I’m sure there are plenty of local artists in your town. Visit a local art studio and see some beautiful artwork.

Visit a local animal shelter and show some love to the animals. Spending time loving and playing with the animals will bring joy to both of your hearts.

Booking a night in a cabin is so peaceful. We love to have little  getaways to the mountains and stay in a cabin.

One of my favorite trips was to Jamaica in December one year. The sunshine was much needed and the time together was much needed!

I have always wanted to try this! Indoor skydiving would be so much fun together.

In my mind, New York City would be the most amazing winter wonderland to visit during winter.

The aquarium is one of the best places for a winter date! You can stay warm while enjoying all the animals and each other’s company.

A planetarium offers an exciting and breathtaking experience. Have the best time with this jaw-dropping experience! 

105. Go Glamping

Have the camping experience in style. 

106. Book a Helicopter Ride

The best way to see the area where you live is up in the air. Book a helicopter ride for an amazing experience together. 

107. Find the Snow

If it doesn’t snow where you live, then go find the snow!

Find a unique attraction near you and visit. These can be fun and silly to see.
