Fall is my favorite time of the year, as it is for many others, too! It’s the perfect time to be outdoors, spend quality time with the people you love, and enjoy some of your favorite food and drinks!
The cool weather makes me want to do all the fun activities outoors, go on a road trip, bundle up in a blanket, and drink all my favorite warm beverages. Even with all the fun things going on around you, it can be hard to think of date ideas, but don’t worry, there are plenty of fun things to do!
Whether it’s your first date, your tenth, or your married and having a date night, there is something on this list for you! Here are 53 of my favorite simple date night ideas!
53 Simple and Fun Date Ideas for the Fall Season
1. Go to Your Favorite Coffee Shop for A Coffee Date
Getting coffee is always a great way to spend the evening. My husband and I love to try new fall flavors! It’s also a great way to sit down, talk, and learn more about each other.
2. Visit a Bakery and Get Your Favorite Fall Treat
You don’t have to ask me twice to get a tasty treat! My downtown area has the best bakeries to get a fall treat and walk around to enjoy the nice weather.
3. Walk Through The Park
Walking through the park and taking in the beautiful fall foliage is a great date night. Take the pups for a walk if you have any!
4. Go to a Pumpkin Patch
Is it even fall if you don’t visit a local pumpkin patch? Go pick out the perfect pumpkin, take pictures, and get ready to carve the pumpkin!
5. Carve a Pumpkin
Pick out a fun pattern and carve the pumpkins you picked from the patch. Painting them is also very popular right now. Either of these are fun ideas for things to do with your punpkin.
6. Roast The Seeds From The Pumpkin
There’s no need to waste all the seeds you dig out of the pumpkin to carve it. Use this recipe to make a yummy, healthy snack!
7. Have A Movie Date Night- In or Go Out to a Movie
A great date night idea for fall is to have a movie night! Go to the movies and watch something new, or stay home and pull out one of your favorite movies.
8. Spend an Evening by the Fireplace
The firepalce is so cozy! If you are looking for more romantic date ideas, this is one of my favorites. Snuggle up by the fire, play a boardgame, talk, or watch a movie. The fire gives the perfect ambiance for a romantic evening!

9. Spend an Evening in Cooking your Favorite Meal Together
Everyone has their favorite meal or cuisine. Mine is Mexican food- tacos, rice, and spicy salsa. I love when my husband and I get in the kitchen and cook together! We have so much fun talking, laughing, and helping each other. It’s a fun way to spend the evening, plus you get to eat your favorite food!
10. Find a Local Festival to Attend
I love going to festivals! They are packed with so much fun. You can enjoy live music, good food, fall activities, and more! A festival is a great idea for a fun and entertaining date idea.
11. Go Apple Picking
Visiting an apple orchard makes it truly feel like fall. Pick your favorite apples to take home to eat or make something with them! Make sure to snag all things while you are there! Apple cider and apple pie are my favorites of the season!
12. Find a Fun Board Game to Play
Board games were something that I always looked forward to as a kid. I enjoy playing them as an adult, too! Except for Scrabble because I have NEVER won against my husband, and I’m a sore loser, lol. Find a fun and exciting board game to play for a fun date night!
13. Go Thrifting or Antiquing
If you enjoy finding treasures at a steal, then this is the perfect date idea for you! Get out and see what treasures and unique items you can find by visiting local thrift stores, antique shops, or a flea market
14. Have a Bonfire
If you have somewhere to make bonfire, do it! Grab a warm drink, cozy blanket, chair, and sit by and enjoy the bonfire together.
15. Roast Marshmallows and Make Smores
While having your bonfire, make smores! I have so much fun roasting marshmallows and making smores. If you don’t have any area to make a fire outside, you can make them in the house, too!
16. Watch a Sunset
Fall always has the most beautiful scenery. It also has the most beautiful sunsets! Find a place to spend the evening watching a sunset. Take some snacks, warm drinks, and warm blankets.
17. Find a Nice Place and Do Some Stargazing
Stargazing is a very romantic fall date idea. Sometimes, you may even get lucky, and there be a meteor shower! Don’t forget a blanket to lay on and cover up with!
18. Go Camping
Do you enjoy being outdoors, having a campfire, and sleeping under the stars? Going camping is the perfect way to spend a fall evening! It’s very peaceful, relaxing, and fun. It can be a great way to learn more about your partner, things they like, and their strengths in the outdoors.

Going for hikes is something my husband and I did alot of when we were dating. We would pack a picnic, throw on our hiking shoes, and hit the trails! It’s a great way to get outside and spend some time together. It’s the best season to take in all the beautiful colors!

If there are any county fairs in your area, you should go! Going to the fair is one of my favorite things to do in the fall. It is one of the best date ideas! Enjoy the food, fun rides, art, animals and other acitivities at the fair. We always have a blast!
