Do you love to have squeaky clean windows and glass throughout your house? Do you want your mirrors to be streak-free with non-toxic products? Using products with natural ingredients throughout your home will make you feel better and healthier, too!
Natural options like homemade cleaning products are safer for your home, family, and pets!
The best part is that you probably have most of these ingredients in your pantry or around your home. It’s cost-effective and safe, and you can make it any time you need to.
The best way to kick off your spring cleaning is by making this amazing DIY glass cleaner.
Why Should I Use a Homemade Glass Cleaner?
Do you know what ingredients are used in your cleaning products? Cleaning products are filled with all kinds of unwanted, toxic chemicals that are bad for us, our families, our pets, and more! By making our cleaners, we can be sure of what ingredients are in the products that we are using and that they are safe for our loved ones.
This glass and window cleaner is very easy to make and cost-effective, and it doesn’t have very many ingredients. You may even have most of these ingredients in your cabinets at home. There is no reason why you need to bring unnecessary toxins into your home by using store-bought glass cleaner.
What Should I Use to Wipe the Glass Cleaner?
Many people use paper towels, coffee filters, or a towel to get their windows or glass streak-free.
Instead of using paper towels or coffee filters, which create waste and leave streaks, use a microfiber cloth on glass surfaces. A clean microfiber cloth will ensure a streak-free shine on your windows, glass, and mirrors.
What Should I Store My Glass Cleaner In?
When we buy cleaning supplies, they usually come in plastic containers, but is plastic really the best option for storing things?
Unlike a commercial cleaner or store-bought cleaners, you should store homemade cleaning solutions in glass bottles. Not only is this better for the environment (to cut down on plastic waste), but it’s better for the product as well.
Plastic bottles contain toxic chemicals that can get into the cleaner and then into your home. You want to keep the toxic chemicals out when you make your own cleaners!
Glass bottles are safer for your home and products. I recommend using a dark-colored bottle like amber or cobalt to protect the ingredients used in the homemade cleaner.
Why is it Important to Use a Dark-Colored Glass Bottle?
It’s important to use a dark-colored glass bottle for this mixture, or any mixture that you make with essential oils. Essential oils are very potent and could harm plastic bottles.
I also always recommend glass bottles over plastic because they are less environmentally harmful. The dark color (blue or amber) will protect the mixture from harsh lighting.
Where Should I Store My Glass Cleaner?
Store natural cleaners in a cool, dark, and dry place. It will help the product last longer while protecting the ingredients used in them.
What Can I Use Homemade Glass Cleaner For?
This homemade glass cleaner is perfect for cleaning several things around your home. It will make a huge difference in the clean and shine of your bathroom, bedroom, and windows around your home.
It’s perfect for cleaning smudges, water spots, or dirt off dirty windows in any room of your home, the bathroom mirror, bedroom mirror, picture frames, and more! It can be used on any product that is glass and will leave it clean, shiny, and smelling wonderful.
